Project 365: #12

Interesting tree

Taken: November 5, 2006 (What is Project 365?)

It only hit me late on Sunday that I hadn’t taken any pictures all day. I figured a scene from the neighorhood would do. The plants around here are amazing. I like the way the color of this tree makes it stand out from among its surroundings. I’ll be sure to capture it in daylight sometime as well.

Do you have a shortcut for posting your photos with the link to flickr (that isn’t WordPress-exclusive)?
I started doing the Project 365 thing, but I’ve just been using blogger’s “insert image” tool, which doesn’t link to the proper flickr page, or flickr’s “blog this”, which puts extra information in about the photo. I know I could manually add the right link, but I’m hoping there’s an easier way.
    Thanks!

Lucy, that’s a good question. I just tab on over to the small size version of the image on Flickr and grab the link there. So I go to All Sizes and then choose Small, which then has the links. I don’t know of any shortcuts for that, I’m afraid.

I just created a page on my site that has the various links and tags that I keep adding to these images. But that’s not ideal either. It would be great to have something a bit quicker. Or I could just be less systematic about it all. Nah.

Glad to know you’ve got a Project 365 of your own. I’ll be adding a link to it. Blogger doesn’t have categories, right? So I can’t add a link to that part of your blog, can I?

I didn’t know about finding the links there (and apparently have therefore been violating their terms of service… oops) so thanks!

I have unofficial categories via del.icio.us, but they just list the posts, rather than showing them. The link is http://pigpuppet.blogspot.com/2005/04/category.html?project_365

Thanks for the link, and the inspiration. I’ve been enjoying following your project.
