What was interesting was the response of Rush Limbaugh and others on the far right, seizing on a single question that is open to different interpretation. The question asked for attitudes about violence “to defend Islam against its enemies.” The rightwingers were rabid about the finding that only 78% of Muslims in the US said that such violence could never be justified.
I wonder what percentage of these wingnuts would similarly reject violence “to defend Christianity against its enemies.”
