Bob Herbert’s recent column summed up a lot of my sentiments:

Ignorance must really be bliss. How else, over so many years, could the G.O.P. get away with ridiculing all things liberal?

Or are some of us overreacting?

    The Republicans have a real talent for spin, don’t they? And folks in “Small Town” America seem more than willing to eat it up, and that is what’s worrisome. I really wish that more people would talk about the issues than Sarah Palin’s lipstick and questioning Obama’s faith.
