What were they thinking?
They weren’t. Or they certainly weren’t thinking about anybody else.
At 4:58am this morning I heard a very loud bang. Then I heard another. Then I heard a whole series of them. By the third I decided to get up. I saw small fireworks a few blocks away. Who decides to set off fireworks in the middle of a densely-populated residential area at 5am?!

That stinks! Considering the way I’ve been sleeping lately, I would be dozing off for the second time. Perhaps someone is lighting fireworks in my neighborhood too!

Maybe they were celebrating my neighbors exciting news…last night I heard she got a C+ (no idea in what). She kept shouting it out over and over and over again on her back porch – I think it was each time she called up someone new.

We thought it was gunfire, at first. Well not first, because, FIRST, I got up and looked out the window (which would have been stupid, stupid, stupid if it had been gunfire)! By then the light show was over. A friend on the police force said that a cop arrived to sort it out even before the dozens of “citizen complaint” calls that followed it. I hope they scared the “tar” out of those jerks…
