With the right pot and in the right circumstances one can avoid them easily altogether and save a bundle. Is it so hard to get a teapot that has a little mesh to hold the tea leaves in? And they are so expensive - I buy my Mariage Freres tea in 100g sachets and I am sure that even the best grades of their tea cost me just pennies a cup. Certainly I can't see spending $1 for a disposable bag which I would have to fill with tea first! It's so nice to be able to enjoy something really top of the range every day without breaking the bank... I really don’t understand the teabag craze.
